Central control is discussed for urban traffic system signals with computerized digital control equipment; after determination of cycle for each intersection, percentage split for intersecting traffic, and offset timing between intersections computer is ready to generate cam-advance impulses for each intersection, which will be continuously updated as new traffic flow information is processed by system; digital computer cost is lower than analog systems.
