Containers studied are of 100 cu ft capacity used to consolidate dry general cargo transported by ship, rail, air and road; empirical approach used to develop methodologies; investigation of dominant variables affecting sizes, and density distributions of commodities, tabulated on IBM machines; simulation study; determination of stowage space losses.
