Problem is that of determining direction and magnitude of bounded thrust of single-stage rocket, traveling in vacuum and constant gravitational field, to minimize function of initial and final values of rocket mass, position and velocity components, and time; criteria for identification of extremal subarcs and their composition into complete extremal arc; it is found that flight takes place either at maximum or minimum thrust and that three subarcs can arise.
