Leigh joint is of two types, known as Mark I and Mark 2; latter tested in standard bull head track at Cheddington, on main line of London Midland Region from Euston to North, for past 4 1/2 yr; although satisfactory, it has not been decided whether it has advantage over ordinary standard joint.
