Aerodynamic tests were made with four geometrically similar metal propellers of different diameters on Wright Whirlwind J-5 engine in open-cockpit fuselage; tests were made in 20-ft. propeller research tunnel of National Advisory Committee for Aeronautics; results show little difference in characteristics of various propellers, only one of any importance being increase of efficiency of order of 1 per cent for 10 per cent increase of diameter.
