Paper discusses some special problems, for instance influence of waves and wind on movements of ships and mooring forces to be expected at unprotected mooring places, critical circumstances for ship maneuvering when sailing in water of limited depth, and requirements which construction of harbor must meet in order to become suited for receiving large ships.
