Two years of test work at trona mine in Wyoming showed that diesel haulage vehicles had certain safety and operating advantages over electrically powered equipment; diesel powered jeeps and shuttle cars, diesel bulldozer and diesel front end loader are now installed in mine; studies indicate that exhaust gases emitted from units do not create hazard as long as adequate ventilation is maintained.
