Methods of queueing theory are applied to develop mathematical model of relation between aircraft maintenance and flying in fighter squadron; unscheduled maintenance is considered; model allows estimate to be made of extent to which desired daily flying schedule can be implemented when certain level of maintenance effort is assumed; it also traces daily variation of number of unserviceable aircraft, and extent to which this number can be reduced by maintenance, assuming given flying program.
