Full-scale pressure-distribution data on load and stresses experienced in flight by U.S.S. Los Angeles to be used in rigid airship structure design; airship turning and drag characteristics determined; stress investigation conducted by Navy Department; forces on forebody of airship relatively small; tail-surface measurements show that forces caused by gusts are much greater than those caused by horizontal maneuvers; former closely approached designed loads of tail structure.
