With the rapid development of economy and urbanization, the intercity connections become more and more frequent. Highway passenger transportation plays a significant role in the intercity connections. But at present, the transportation service level is low and hindering the development of highway passenger transportation. Based on the questionnaire survey data of intercity travels by highway transportation in the Yangtze River Delta Urban Agglomeration, this paper analyzes passengers’ demands with factor analysis method and ranks importance of extracted factors from high to low. Then, using the factors about passengers’ travel attitude and life-style, this paper finally recommends a new service pattern of intercity customized bus based on passengers’ diversified travel demands and the deficiencies of traditional single service pattern, which also is testified by satisfaction survey.
