Based on the presuppositions of some endogenous operation's characteristics about the transit system, such as the bus operational routes, bus departure interval at the start stop, etc., and assumptions of some exogenous factors' characteristics, such as mean and variation on the bus travel time on road links and the bus staying time on bus stops, the service reliability of the bus stop's berth for the dwelling demand of buses at bus stop is studied and the calculating formulas for it is proposed, which can figure out the possibility of multiple buses encountering at a bus stop in arbitrary time interval. A new concept, α -reliability, is defined to measure the service reliability. Some conclusions are gained: 1) The encounter possibility at the stop of the buses varies time periodically; 2) the service reliability will be influenced if any of factors change, and some applications are also provided in the end.
