Compared with passenger transport, study on freight value of time (FVOT) has been largely neglected. In China, a large scale stated preference studies for freight transport to identify FVOT has not been done. Researches focus on inland leg of international containerized transport is even fewer. This paper intends to fill that gap by estimating the FVOT of railway for the inland leg of containerized transport in China, using a mixed logit (ML) model and stated preference techniques. The corridors Bengbu-Shanghai and Yiwu-Ningbo in China were selected for the survey. The FVOT obtained in this paper (€0.31 per ton and hour) is much lower compared with the empirical evidence identified for containerized shipments in the door-to-port leg in European country. The FVOT in Bengbu-Shanghai corridor (€0.32 per ton and hour) is equal to that in Yiwu-Ningbo corridor. And FVOT is quite different across different decision-makers.
