As maritime weather and other environmental changes are more and more complex and frequent, ships traveling along established routes may encounter some cases where people are unable to react quickly. The navigational expert system gets real-time information of ships and target ships through AIS and VTS, and stores these data into databases, then uses certain rules to decide if some certain areas of the route are feasible, and allows the ship to bypass the infeasible areas, finally generating the best route. By taking all the various factors into account, we can generate a real-time and actually useful route based on the planned routes.
