The amount of allocated driving attention must be commensurate with the demand for attention that is imposed by the driving task under a particular driving environment. According to classifying the driving task and non-driving related tasks, we can further learn about the reason of driver distraction. Based on the principle of balance between supply and demand, under the assumed condition that the driving task and non-driving related task can be detected, we analyzed the different situation of driver distraction, and then we constructed the Driving Task Supply-Demand Strategy Model for real-time estimating the driving task demand. These variables include diver task demand (e.g., road type, driving speed, headway, turning) and non-driving related task demand (e.g., Wireless Device distraction, Vehicle-Related device distraction, Passenger-Related talking distraction, external distraction, in-vehicle objects-related distraction, Looked but did not see).
