Fine modelling is realized on the metro car body. The total element number of the car body model is more than 200 million, and the model is highly similar to the prototype of the car body. The loads are applied according to the EN12663, and 15 load cases are applied to this model. Calculation results showed that car strength is satisfied the design demands. Compression and tension cases are the most serious in all load cases. In all load cases, stress major focused on the corners of the doors and windows, and designers should pay more attentions on these places. Some nodal stress data are extracted from test results. The test data are used to verify the simulation results.
