The invention relates to a traction damping device for a traction coupling, in particular an intermediate damping coupling. The traction damping device comprises a first connection for a coupling rod, which transmits tension and pressure; a second connection for transmitting tension and pressure for fastening the traction damping device to the vehicle structure, the second connection being positioned axially away from the first connection; the invention relates to a spring device, which transmits tension and pressure between a first joint and a second joint, said spring device comprising a hydraulic damper having an axially displaceable piston and an axially extending piston rod connected to the piston. The traction damping device according to the invention is characterized in that the spring device further comprises two separate pressure springs which are positioned next to one another on the piston rod and which are arranged parallel to the hydraulic damper in the force flow in the pressure direction of the spring device and in series in such a way as to support one another.
