The invention relates to a buffer elevator. The buffer elevator comprises an elevator lift car arranged in an elevator shaft, a vibration conversion device and a power storage device connected with the vibration conversion device are arranged on the car wall of the elevator lift car, a damping device is arranged on a base plate of the lift car, the vibration conversion device is used for converting kinetic energy in the damping device into electric energy, and buffer devices are arranged on the outer side of the top of the lift car and the outer side of the bottom of the lift car respectively and are powered by the power storage device. Two transverse latches are arranged outside the lift car of the error-opening-prevention elevator, when the elevator is overhauled, the triangular prism end of a rotating shaft is sleeved with a triangular key by a maintenance worker inside the lift car, the rotating shaft is forwards rotated to drive the transverse latches through gears to advance in the direction of the lateral wall of the shaft, and rotation is ended when the ends of the transverse latches are completely inserted into locking grooves. When the transverse latches are inserted into the locking grooves, even though being suddenly started, the elevator cannot ascend or descend, and the personnel safety of the maintenance worker is guaranteed.
