Pedestrians are important participants at signalized intersections. Currently, the planning and design of signalized intersections give priority to the efficiency of vehicle movement. To ensure the efficient movement of vehicles, many pedestrian crossing environments have been destroyed in Beijing. The phrase “Chinese style of crossing the road” is a form of ridiculing some Chinese pedestrians who may cross the street during the red light if there are enough people crossing; it has nothing to do with traffic lights. According to the characteristics of the current traffic in Beijing, the focus of this study was on the pedestrians who arrived at the waiting area for the signalized intersection crosswalk during the red signal phase. Both a video survey and a manual survey were used to obtain base data for the waiting endurance time of pedestrians crossing in Beijing under different influence factors, and 9,554 samples of endurance time were collected. A Cox’s proportional hazards regression model of pedestrian waiting endurance time was built. The results show that the ideal endurance time is 18.7 s, and the limit to waiting endurance time is 52.8 s. The waiting endurance time is affected by temperature, gender, age, travel time, and red signal timing, but the influence of land use is not significant
