The method, friction control between wheel and rail, was proposed to improve curving performance. And in order to certify the effect of the method, numerical analysis and experiments were carried out. The following results were obtained: (1) Multi-body dynamics simulation software was constructed, which regards the creep characteristics of friction modifier and effect of rolling of each axle, to evaluate the effect of friction control. (2) By the result of numerical analysis, revolution of the trailing axle is affected by the change of contact condition between wheel and rail. (3) In order to certify the tendency observed in simulations that revolution difference between the leading and trailing axle relates to the contact condition of wheel and rail, 1/10-scaled model vehicle tests were carried out. And as the results, the possibility that the differences of rotations cold be a feedback parameter of the friction control was indicated.
