Over the past few years, the global automotive sector has benefited greatly from electric vehicles. According to projections from 2020, there were over 12 million electric vehicles in use worldwide. China sold 90% of them, with Europe, the United States, and other nations following. In India, EV development is still in its infancy. In India, 3.8 lakh electric vehicles were sold in the 2019–20 year. Passenger vehicles generate the largest portion of EV sales in India, followed by commercial vehicles and two-wheelers.
