Electric vehicles have been in the market since the end of the nineteenth century when most of the taxis were electric vehicles. But the use and sale of electric vehicles is still very less as compared to vehicles using other fuels and one of the major factors owing to it is the range anxiety of electric vehicles. The objective of this study is to demonstrate how the travel range can be increased in electric vehicles. In this paper, some factors have been reviewed which will help increase the travel range of electric vehicles such as aerodynamic of vehicles, the battery used and method of braking (regenerative braking). Further the environmental aspect of electric vehicles is discussed. By keeping in mind, the above-mentioned factors together, it can help us to create a sustainable environment with electric vehicles so as to fix the pollution problem and depleting natural resources caused by extensive use of diesel and petrol-based vehicle.
