EMC / EMI measurements, which also required for spacecraft on-orbit, are performed inside of anechoic chamber via using microwave absorbers. Wedge and pyramidal type absorbers are popular type of broadband absorbers to cover inside of chamber along its wall, ceiling and floor. The amount of absorbed energy of incident EM wave is related to the shape of absorber. Alternative absorber shapes can be investigated to improve absorption performance of absorbers and provide accuracy of measurements. In this study, a power function shaped absorber geometry is defined as a singly periodic microwave absorber similar to wedge type absorber. Reflection characteristic of power function shaped absorber is presented. Absorber is analyzed by using Periodic Moment Method (PMM). 2 10 GHz frequency band is considered for reflection value calculations of absorbers. TM mode normal incidence case electromagnetic waves are employed for the calculations within the 2–10 GHz frequency band. Bistatic pattern characteristics of absorber at 2, 4 and 6 GHz are presented. Investigating alternative absorber geometry is an important contribution of the study.
