The present invention provides a pneumatic tire with a tire tread having a ground engaging outer surface. The tread further comprises a first or central tread zone located in the central or crown portion of the tread and formed from a first rubber compound. In addition, the tread has a second or shoulder tread zone located axially outside the first or central tread zone on each lateral end of the tread. The second or shoulder tread zone is formed from a second rubber compound. In an embodiment, the first rubber compound has G' (at 50 % strain) ranging from 1.6 to 1.8 MPa. In another embodiment, the second rubber compound has G' (at 100 % strain) ranging from 800 to 830 kPa.
