The present invention relates to a smart cane for the visually impaired comprising: a communication device for searching traffic light location information; a communication device for operating acoustic generators; a mobile terminal; and a traffic light location information database. Accordingly, the smart cane for the visually impaired has a function to operate an acoustic generator a user wants. A method for operating an acoustic generator by using the smart cane is used by an IR communication, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the like. In addition, the smart cane operated by the IR communication method can be implemented by installing an IR transmitter to the smart cane and an IR receiver identified by frequencies to the acoustic generator. The present invention does not limit beacons to the traffic light but installs the same in major landmarks in which the visually impaired feel, and can provide direction information for landmarks or locations in a forwarding direction by using GPS information.
본 발명은 시각 장애인을 위한 스마트 지팡이에 관한 것으로, 신호등 위치정보 탐색을 위한 통신장치, 음향발생기를 동작시키기 위한 통신장치, 이동 단말기 및 신호등 위치정보 데이터베이스를 포함한다. 따라서, 시각 장애인을 위한 스마트 지팡이는 사용자가 원하는 음향 발생기를 동작시키는 기능을 갖는다. 스마트 지팡이를 사용하여 음향 발생기를 동작시키는 방법은 IR 통신, WiFi, 블루투스 등을 사용한다. 또한, IR 통신 방식의 동작하는 스마트 지팡이는 스마트 지팡이에 IR 송신기, 음향 발생기는 주파수로 구분되는 IR 수신기로 설치하여 구현할 수 있다. 신호등에 대해 비콘을 한정시키는 것이 아닌 시각 장애인이 느낄 수 있는 주요 랜드마크에 설치하고 GPS 정보를 함께 이용하여 현재 진행하고 있는 방향에 대해 랜드마크 혹은 위치에 대한 방향 정보를 함께 제공할 수 있다.
