To provide a collision damage reduction device which reduces collision damage during a lateral collision.SOLUTION: A collision damage reduction device is provided at a vehicle 1 having: doors 30 each of which is provided at a door opening provided at a vehicle body side surface part in an openable and closable manner; and side sills 50 each of which is disposed along a lower edge part of the door. The collision damage reduction device includes: an airbag 100 which is deployed from a storage part 50 provided at the lower side of the door at a vehicle body to an area located at an outer side as seen in a vehicle width direction of the door; and a door beam 90 which is provided spanning a space between a front part and a rear part in the door. The airbag has: a first air chamber 110 in which an upper end is disposed at a position higher than the door beam and a lower end is disposed at a position lower than an upper end of the side sill in a range where at least a position in a vehicle longitudinal direction overlaps with a seat surface of a seat S on which an occupant is seated; and a second air chamber 120 which is provided spanning a space between a lower part of the first air chamber and the storage part and has an inner pressure lower than that of the first air chamber.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】側面衝突時における衝突被害を抑制した衝突被害軽減装置を提供する。【解決手段】車体側面部に設けられるドア開口に開閉可能に設けられたドア３０と、ドアの下縁部に沿って配置されたサイドシル５０とを有する車両１に設けられる衝突被害軽減装置を、車体におけるドアの下方側に設けられた収容部５０からドアの車幅方向外側の領域に展開するエアバッグ１００と、ドアの内部における前部と後部との間にわたして設けられたドアビーム９０とを備え、エアバッグは、少なくとも車両前後方向における位置が乗員が着座するシートＳの座面と重畳する範囲において、上端部がドアビームよりも高い位置に配置されかつ下端部がサイドシルの上端部よりも低い位置に配置された第１気室１１０と、第１気室の下部と収容部との間にわたして設けられ第１気室よりも低内圧とされる第２気室１２０とを有する構成とする。【選択図】図１
