To provide a ship propulsion unit with a bent flow channel, capable of miniaturizing a propulsion unit and capable of suppressing thrust decrease by suppressing water backflow and vortex generation in a bent flow channel and by having such a configuration as to smoothen the water flow in the flow channel.SOLUTION: A ship propulsion unit 1 to obtain thrust of a ship S comprises: an impeller 6 provided on the upstream side of a roughly U-shaped flow channel 4, and sucking up water from an inlet port 9 by rotation to generate a water flow in the flow channel 4; an impeller shaft 5 extending in the prescribed direction in the flow channel 4 and rotationally driving the impeller 6; a shaft part 40 placed on the downstream side of the impeller 6 and rotatably supporting the impeller 5 in the flow channel 4; and multiple rib parts 50 provided in the flow channel 4 and supporting the shaft part 40 in the flow channel 4. The multiple ribs 50 guide the water flow to the downstream side of the flow channel 4 in the extending direction of the flow channel 4 while rectifying, where the shape of at lest one rib is different from the shapes of the other ribs.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

    【課題】曲がった流路を備える船舶用推進器において、推進器の小型化を図るとともに曲がった流路において水の逆流や渦の発生を抑えて、流路内の水の流れをスムーズにする構造を有することで、推力の低下を抑えることができる船舶用推進器を提供する。【解決手段】船舶Sの推進力を得る船舶用推進器1であって、略U字形状の流路4の上流側に設けられ、回転することで吸込口9から水を吸い込み流路4に水流を発生させるインペラ6と、流路4内において所定方向に延出され、インペラ6を回転駆動するためのインペラ軸5と、インペラ6の下流側に配置され、流路4内においてインペラ軸5を回転自在に支持する軸部40と、流路4内に配置され、軸部40を流路4内に支持する複数のリブ50と、を備え、複数のリブ50は、少なくとも一つのリブの形状が他のリブの形状と異なるとともに、水流を流路4の延出方向に沿って整流しながら流路4の下流側に案内する。【選択図】図1
