To provide a pedestrian position prediction method and device with which when a pedestrian avoids various forms of obstacle under various ambient environments, it is possible to predict with good accuracy a walking trajectory before the start of avoidance.SOLUTION: A pedestrian position prediction method is made to include: setting an avoidance start position where a pedestrian starts bending a trajectory from the walking path being followed so far in order to avoid an obstacle and a passing-each-other distance which is a clearance between the pedestrian and the obstacle when the pedestrian passes through a side of the obstacle in accordance with the state of the pedestrian, the form of the obstacle and the situation of an ambient environment; and estimating the walking trajectory of the pedestrian on the basis of the set avoidance start position and passing-each-other distance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7

    【課題】 歩行者が様々な周辺環境の下で様々な態様の障害物を回避する際の歩行軌跡を回避開始前に精度良く予測し得る歩行者位置予測方法及び装置を提供する。【解決手段】 歩行者位置予測方法において、歩行者が障害物を回避するためにそれまでの歩行経路から軌跡を曲げ始める回避開始位置と、歩行者が前記障害物の横を通過するときの歩行者と障害物の離間距離であるすれ違い距離を、歩行者の状態と障害物の態様と周辺環境の状況に応じて設定し、設定された回避開始位置とすれ違い距離に基づいて歩行者の歩行軌跡を推定するようにした。【選択図】 図7
