To provide a shift controller of an automatic transmission capable of attaining both simplification of a structure and improvement in shift operation.SOLUTION: A shift controller 1 of an automatic transmission 2 comprises an automatic shift mode in which gears are automatically switched according to a travel condition, and a manual shift mode in which gears are switched by the operation of a shift switch 40 from an occupant in a state where a shift device 30 is held at an automatic shift mode selection position, and can execute the automatic shift mode and the manual shift mode. The manual shift mode has an M1 mode of fixing a gear selected by the operation of the shift switch 40, and an M2 mode of fixing the gear selected by the same operation as that in a case of selecting the M1 mode, and returning from the manual shift mode to the automatic shift mode in a case where a second return condition is satisfied. The shift controller comprises a mode selection unit 13 that selects a manual mode to be executed of the manual shift mode in advance.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1

【課題】構造の簡単化と変速操作性向上とを両立することができる自動変速機の変速制御装置を提供する。【解決手段】走行状態に応じて変速段が自動的に切替わる自動変速モードと、シフト装置３０が自動変速モード選択位置に保持された状態における乗員のシフトスイッチ４０の操作によって変速段が切替わる手動変速モードとを備え、自動変速モード及び手動変速モードを実行可能な自動変速機２の変速制御装置１において、手動変速モードが、シフトスイッチ４０の操作により選択された変速段を固定するＭ１モードと、Ｍ１モードを選択するときの操作と同一の操作により選択された変速段に固定され且つ第２復帰条件の成立により手動変速モードから自動変速モードに復帰するＭ２モードとを有し、手動変速モードのうち実行するマニュアルモードを予め選択するモード選択部１３を設けている。【選択図】図１
