PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately detect a moving object moving in a direction crossing an advancing direction of a vehicle.SOLUTION: A vehicle collision avoidance support apparatus (100) includes: a state determination unit (11) which is mounted on a vehicle to determine whether there is no moving object moving in a direction crossing an advancing direction (FD) of the vehicle; first sensors (21, 22) for detecting an object located forward of the vehicle; and an avoidance operation control unit (12) which causes the vehicle to execute avoidance operation determined in advance for collision avoidance, in accordance with a result detected by the first sensor in a determination area of the forward of the vehicle. When absence of the moving object is determined, the avoidance operation control unit uses an area narrower in vertical and horizontal directions with respect to the advancing direction, as a determination area, as compared with a case where a determination is made that it is not a case in which the moving object does not exist.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
