PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a double-deck elevator which can acquire an elongation amount of a cord for suspending an upper car and a lower car in an outer car frame without lifting the outer car frame.SOLUTION: A double-deck elevator comprises detection means for detecting absolute positions of an upper car 14 and a lower car 16 in a vertical direction with respect to an outer car frame 12. The double-deck elevator also comprises: a magnetic scale 28 including a magnetic tape 30 and reading units 32, 34; storage means RAM 42 for storing the absolute positions of the upper car 14 and the lower car 16 which are detected by the magnetic scale 28 at a first time point; and calculation means for calculating an elongation amount generated at a wire rope 20 being a cord reaching a second time point from the first time point on the basis of absolute positions of the upper car 14 and the lower car 16 which are detected by the magnetic scale 28 at the second time point after the first time point, and the absolute positions of the upper car 14 and the lower car 16 which are stored in the RAM 42.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
【課題】外かご枠を昇降させることなく、外かご枠内の上かごと下かごを吊り下げる索状体の伸び量を取得することができるダブルデッキエレベータを提供すること。【解決手段】上かご１４と下かご１６の外かご枠１２に対する上下方向の絶対位置を検出する検出手段である、磁気テープ３０および読取ユニット３２，３４を含む磁気スケール２８と、第１の時点で磁気スケール２８よって検出された、上かご１４の絶対位置と下かご１６の絶対位置を記憶する記憶手段であるＲＡＭ４２と、第１の時点よりも後の第２の時点で磁気スケール２８よって検出された上かご１４の絶対位置および下かご１６の絶対位置、並びに、ＲＡＭ４２に記憶されている上かご１４の絶対位置および下かご１６の絶対位置に基づいて、第１の時点から第２の時点に至る間に索状体であるワイヤロープ２０に生じた伸び量を算出する算出手段と、を設けた。【選択図】図１
