La présente invention concerne un élastomère et une composition de caoutchouc le comprenant. L'élastomère diénique porte des fonctions imidazoles pendantes selon une teneur molaire d'au plus 4% des unités de répétition constitutives de l'élastomère diénique lequel élastomère diénique est un copolymère d'éthylène et d'un 1,3-diène comprenant des unités éthylène, les unités éthylène représentant au moins 50% en mole des unités de répétition constitutives de l'élastomère diénique, le 1,3-diène étant le 1,3-butadiène ou l'isoprène. Un tel élastomère confère à la composition de caoutchouc des propriétés à cru améliorées.
A diene elastomer and a rubber composition comprising the diene elastomer is provided. The diene elastomer bears pendent imidazole functions in a molar content of at most 4% of the constituent repeating units of the diene elastomer, which diene elastomer is a copolymer of ethylene and of a 1,3-diene comprising ethylene units, the ethylene units representing at least 50 mol % of the constituent repeating units of the diene elastomer, the 1,3-diene being 1,3-butadiene or isoprene. Such an elastomer confers improved uncured properties on the rubber composition.
