L'invention concerne une machine de travail, notamment sous la forme d'un camion à benne (10) ou d'un camion, avec un plateau supérieur (26) sur lequel on peut marcher et qui est disposé à l'avant au-dessus d'un pare-chocs (22) et avec une cabine de conducteur (28) disposée sur le côté du plateau supérieur (26) avec au moins un système d'accès de type à marches disposé devant la cabine de conducteur (28). Selon l'invention, un palier intermédiaire (42), inférieur au plateau supérieur (26), est agencé devant la cabine de conducteur (28) et des marches (44) conduisent dans tous les cas latéralement à partir de celui-ci au plateau supérieur (26) alors que d'autres marches (48) conduisent à partir du palier intermédiaire (42) vers l'avant dans le sens du déplacement du véhicule au moins vers le pare-chocs (22).
