The invention relates to a display device (22) for a motor vehicle. If a driving device (12) provides a maximum power in a maximum duration less than the prediction, the driving power of the driving device is limited in the power limit by the power limitation (44). The display device comprises an energy meter (32) displaying driving power and a time display device (34) comprising a time displayer (48'). The technical problem solved by the invention is in that, the three display contents used in current values containing energy meter, time remaining and power limit are compactly displayed. Therefore, a power scale area (38) comprises a power scale end (40) represented the maximum power, and a time scale area (46) comprises a time scale end (50) represented the maximum duration. The power scale end (40) and the time scale end (50) are coincided. When the maximum duration is reached, the time displayer (48') exceeds the time scale end (50) and passes the time scale area (46), and the power scale area (38) is displayed the variable power limit (52) caused by a power limiter (44).
