Systems and techniques for vehicle operational safety model (VOSM) compliance measurements are described herein. A subject vehicle is tested in a vehicle following scenario for VOSM parameter compliance. A test measures subject vehicle activity during a phase of a following scenario in which a leading vehicle decelerates and produces log data and calculations that form a basis for VOSM compliance measurements.
