The invention belongs to the technical field of electro-hydraulic retarders, in particular to a front electro-hydraulic retarder structure of an automobile gearbox, and provides the following scheme that the front electro-hydraulic retarder structure comprises a transmission shaft, a rotor, a stator and a coil, the transmission shaft is rotationally connected to the middle position between the two sides of the stator, and the rotor is fixed to the middle position, located in the stator, of the outer wall of the transmission shaft; the rotor is arranged to be of a double-salient-pole structure, the coil is fixed to the position, located in the middle of the rotor, in the stator, a surrounding liquid flow cavity is formed outside the shell of the stator, the top end and the bottom end of the liquid flow cavity are both connected with liquid flow pipes, and a circulation cavity is formed in the position, located in the middle of the stator, of the transmission shaft. Circulation liquid flow enters the middle position of the transmission shaft and the rotor, on one hand, the cooling and heat dissipation effect is improved through internal liquid introduction, and on the other hand, by means of the speed difference between flowing of the circulating liquid and rotation of the transmission shaft and the rotor, buffering and retarding of rotation of the transmission shaft and the rotor are improved through active liquid flow.
