The invention relates to a vehicle lateral motion control method and a system, an automatic driving controller, a steering system, a vehicle and a storage medium. The vehicle transverse motion control method comprises the following steps: generating a steering control command and outputting according to an expected track of a vehicle, and moving the vehicle along an actual track according to the steering control command; determining a vehicle operating state, wherein the vehicle operating state is generated according to an error value between the expected trajectory and the actual trajectory; and determining whether to stop/limit the output of the steering control command according to the vehicle running state. According to the method, the lateral movement of the vehicle can be controlled.
