The invention relates to a single-drive walking mechanism and method. The walking mechanism comprises a rack, an active walking foot system, a supporting foot system and adriven walking foot system, wherein the active walking foot system comprises a walking support, a cylindrical sleeve with the bottom inclined, a first connecting rod, a second connecting rod and a third connecting rod, the inner wall of the cylindrical sleeve is smoothly arranged on the forefront shaft column of the rack in a sleeving mode, the bottom inclined face is parallel to the rack and can rotate around the shaft column, and the third connecting rod is flexibly connected with the walking support and can move along with movement of the walking support; the supporting foot system comprises a supporting frame, a cylindrical sleeve, a fourth connecting rod and a fifth connecting rod, the supporting frame and the fourth connecting rod are rigidly connected to the two sides of the sleeve at a certain angle, the other end of the fourth connecting rod is hinged to the fifth connecting rod, and the two connecting rods are kept on the same plane; the driven walking foot system comprises a walking support, a cylindrical sleeve with the bottom inclined and a third connecting rod, and the end, not connected with the active foot walking support, of the third connecting rod is flexibly connected with the secondary walking support and drives the walking support to move.
