The invention discloses a method and device for controlling a vehicle to turn around, equipment and a computer readable storage medium, and relates to the field of automatic driving. The method comprises the steps: recognizing a normal driving area and an abnormal driving area in a road area where a vehicle is going to be turned around is located; in response to determining that at least a portionof the abnormal driving area is available for vehicle turning, determining a turning area to be used for vehicle turning based on the at least a portion of the abnormal driving area and the normal driving area; generating a turn-around strategy for turning around in the turning area; and enabling the vehicle to turn around based on the turn-around strategy. According to the embodiment of the invention, the effective driving space in the road area can be fully utilized to turn around the automatic driving vehicle, so that the turn-around time is shortened.
