The invention relates to the technical field of rail transit and particularly relates to a suspension type monorail traffic system. The suspension type monorail traffic system comprises a rail beam, abogie frame, a vehicle body suspended below the bogie frame, walking wheels and guide wheels, wherein the walking wheels and the guide wheels are arranged on the bogie frame, a gear and a driving device are further arranged on the bogie frame, the driving device is used for driving the gear to rotate, a toothed rail is arranged on an inner side of the rail beam, and the gear is matched with the toothed rail. The suspension type monorail traffic system is advantaged in that the gear and the toothed rail are arranged, when a suspension type monorail train runs on a curve line section, the gearis meshed with the toothed rail, passive guiding depending on the extrusion effect of the guide wheels and a guide rail surface when a traditional suspension type monorail train passes through a curveline is overcome, abrasion of guide wheel tires is effectively reduced, the extra adhesion traction force is provided by means of the meshing effect between the gear and the toothed rail when the train runs on a large-gradient line section, and the climbing capacity of the train is improved.
