Paper attempts to analyze effects of crosswinds on vehicle in terms of steady-state responses per unit crosswind load, for any given ambient condition of crosswind load and vehicle speed; practical evidence strongly supports theory -- both in analyses of typical crosswind vehicle-driver interactions, and by showing agreement with theory in respect of relative merits of various types of vehicles in crosswinds; there are two separate effects of crosswind input-load that concern driver -- input to driver and his output; three prime driver-inputs, path deviation, yaw rate, and lateral acceleration are considered; dynamic system analysis is presented which illustrates effects considered.
