Comparison of three methods of refrigeration considered as follows; vapor cycle, dry ice system, and air expansion turbine system; comparison of installation and performance; it is concluded that air turbine refrigeration cycle is simplest, lightest and most compact system for purpose of air conditioning pressurized transport airplanes; cooling requirements of Lockheed Constellation used as basis for study.
