Systems design for supersonic transport (SST) has been influenced by temperature environment created by aerodynamic heating; factors considered in development of accessory-drive system(ADS); four identical drive systems are provided, one from each engine; each ADS drives constant speed-drive generator, two hydraulic pumps, cabin-air-boost compressor, and cooling-air blower; control system for variable-sweep wing actuation, accomplished by hydraulically powered central gearbox which drives torque tubes attached to identical ball-screw actuators fixed to each movable wing; hydraulic, electric, and environmental controls systems; flight deck and its design features.
