In the process of urban rail transit operations and organizations, passenger inflow control is the key method to solve contradictions between rail network capabilities and passenger demands. In this paper, we propose a mathematical programming model to calculate limited passenger inbound volume in each separate period of the peak hours. We apply our model to a typical metro station in China and formulate a quantified passenger inflow control strategy. The results show that the model proposed in the paper is effective and this quantified approach could optimize present passenger inflow control measures.
