Freight Quality Partnerships (FQPs) have been increasingly established in Europe in the last decade, bringing together local administrations, the freight industry, businesses and other interested stakeholders, with the scope to develop and support strategies to achieve energy‐efficient and sustainable solutions for urban freight delivery. This chapter describes and analyses the results of six pilot implementations in six European cities (Leicester, Hal Tarxien, Montana, Emilia‐Romagna, Szczecin and Stuttgart) that include the establishment and operation of FQPs. The analysis provides valuable insight in terms of drawing conclusions and providing recommendations with regard to key strengths and opportunities, barriers and threats for a successful set‐up, as well as efficient and long‐term sustainable operation of this collaborative scheme. Further actions were carried out within the Clean Last Mile Transport and Logistics Management (C‐LIEGE) project to ensure that the FQPs established will rely in the future on effective strategies.
