Vehicle-mounted electronic systems have become a commonplace in the fields of safety, environmental protection and information. In these systems, an angular rate sensor detecting vehicle yaw plays an important role, particularly in the safety systems. Mass-production of small on-board sensors for car navigation systems has been started in 1994. Application and refining of earlier technology resulted to the successful development of an angular rate sensor suitable for these new braking systems.
