Nowadays, it becomes more and more important to have an economical car with low fuel consumption and pollutant emissions rate, a realible and comfortable car. This is the main wish of everyone and this is the main objective of car manufacturers for the near future. The problem is complicated: automotive engines have become more compacts and lighten in weight and at the same time, there is an increasing demand of higher power output achieved by means of turbo charging or multivalve design. These trends brought a greater thermal load and the presence of thermal heat fluxes larger than the corresponding critical one. In additions reduction of the aerodynamic drag implies that cooling systems have to be reduced in size. Some of these objectives can be reached through different technics. Increasing the reliability, the fuel economy and the thermal comfort, reducing the exhaust emissions could be achieved by a better control of engine working conditions directly connected to the development of new cooling systems with higher performances than the present one. This paper deals with the desirability and faisability of internal combustion engine cooling by allowing the coolant to boil. It seems possible to have been fits by the phase change of the coolant, the main purpose is to control the engine temperature.
