Finite element computational fluid dynamics (CFD) analysis techniques are finding increased utilization for simulation of fluid thermal flow systems found in commercial practice. In the automobile industry, such methods are being applied to prediction of external aerodynamics as well as forced convection heating and cooling of habitation spaces. This paper presents the theoretical, analytical and computer practice issues associated with simulation of vehicle internal flows using modern CFD analysis procedures. Numerical results document performance for pertinent benchmark problems.
