The model for gearbox reliability calculation is developed based on the results of comprehensive research about operating conditions as well as on the results of comprehensive testing of failure probability of gears, synchronic couplings, bearings, sealing sets, etc. The second model for inverse calculation of gearbox carrying capacity is based on reliabilty limit as design constraint. This approach provides possibility for optimization and harmonization of relation between gearbox carrying capacity, design parameters of gearbox components and reliability level in correlation with service life of gearbox and service conditions.
