Eco-friendly green composites from plant-derived fibres are new, emerging 'green' materials for automotive applications. MFC and BC were used as matrix reinforced with AF Kevlar and AF technora in two lengths. Tensile tests did not show any considerable change for strength while Young's modulus increased by 20% for BC/AFT5, BC/AFK5 compared with unfilled MFC but no change observed for MFC composites. Al addition of 5% wt. of AFK5 to BC composite, the coefficient of thermal expansion decreased about 67% and hardness increased about 28% comparable to unfilled MFC which is a better indicator of the reinforcing effect of AFK for BC composite. MFC/AFT 1 improved the flexural strength as well as flexural modulus while BC did not give any significant effect except a slight increase for flexural modulus with AFT5 and AFK.5.
