    Application, alloys and processing by thixomolding


    Applications of Thixomolding in the automotive industry will be described along with prototyping activity. Recent trials on new alloys - including those more heat resistant - demonstrated flexibility in alloy design and agility in composing such alloys by blending. Advances in hot sprues and hot runners enable higher yields and lower cost. Commercial experience has demonstrated the advantages of this process in environmental friendliness and net shaping.
